Archaeological Atlas
Welcome to the FortNet Archaeological Atlas, an interactive mapping tool that displays all archaeological sites catalogued during the research project. This dynamic map provides a comprehensive overview of fortifications, settlements, and archaeological remains documented along the coastal region of ancient Chaonia in Northern Epirus (Albania).
Interactive Features
The map offers powerful exploration capabilities:
- Browse by Location: Navigate the map to discover sites across the research area
- Search Functionality: Query the database by site name, typology, or chronological period
- Detailed Information: Click on any site marker to view comprehensive details including site name, typology, and chronological attribution
- Layer Controls: Toggle different site categories and base map layers for optimal visualization
Each site marker opens a popup window with essential information. Additional detailed views for individual sites will be implemented in future updates, accessible through buttons within the popup interface.
